The Gear You Need

I have all we need for great recordings, but not so many toys that it runs up your costs!

Gear

Pro Tools HDX: All Pro Tools systems are not created equal. I use the Pro Tools HDX system which is the absolute top-of-the line system you will find in every major studio in the world. My studio utilizes a blazing fast custom computer, complete with today’s top plugins, virtual instruments and more.

Pre’s and Mics: The studio is equipped with vintage Neeve pre-amps straight out of the Abbey Road-era Neeve boards. They are perfect. If they don’t sound good you don’t sound good! I also use Focusrite preamps and all channels go through the top-of-the-line Avid HDX D/A converters. I also have a large selection of industry standard mic’s from Neumann, Senhesier, AKG, Audio Technica, CAD and Shure to pick from for every occasion.

Drum Room: Best. Drum. Room. Ever. Fact. Perfectly tuned and built specifically for live drums. I’ve been in better sounding rooms ,but never a better drum room. Don’t believe me? Come in and bang on our house set at no charge!

Instruments: Instruments are available for your convenience and the best sound quality. If it doesn’t sound good going in, it’s not going to sound good coming out. To make sure we have all you need, I have the following available at no charge: 90’s-era DW Custom 5-piece kit with premium cymbals ad hardware, Jimmy Page series Les Paul, American made Strat and P-bass, custom Wayne Charvel Telecaster, Takamine steel string and nylon string acoustics, 1990 Mesa Dual rectifier, Marshal JVM, SVT Classic all-tube bass amp (best there is), weighted-key Yamaha controller and billions of sounds and an assortment of pedals, percussion and most importantly… a cowbell…”so give me some more cowbell”!

Is It Analog?

Nope! Although in vogue again (just like vinyl), I don’t believe it’s practical for the average musician. HDX is at least 99.99 percent as good if you know how to use it and saves musicians time and money. Schedule a session and I’ll show you.
